Let's go people, my bag is packed and ready. "Where are you going Malcolm?" "Out".

Hold on Dad, I'm making a phone call to Elmo. I'll talk to you later.

It's me.

Joseph had a sleep-over at our house on the weekend.

more pics from this past week...

Malcolm's new shoes. He's got some little feet, doesn't he?

An ad for Glosettes if I've ever seen one. The pic was taken at Grandpa's store in Vancouver.

Good old Lane. Lane managed to make his way to the airport to pick up Roger despite the chilly temperatures and blowing snow. Roger said that it was -11 when he got in, brrrr.

Roger's trip to the red mile was a bit dissapointing, but here's some Calgary fans whooping it up! Too bad for their loss, maybe next year!

Roger's hotel in Calgary.

Ahi Tuna Sliders at the Metropolitan Grill in Calgary. The dish was quite tasty, too bad it took 25 minutes for the entrees to arrive. Hockey pool money well spent.

Good bye snowy and cold Calgary, hello warm and sunny Vancouver.

Shot with a circular polarizer.

Almost every evening we go on a family walk (as long as it's not raining). It gives us all a chance to enjoy the longer hours of daylight, explore our new neighbourhood and get some fresh air. Finally, Malcolm has been able to go outside without being completely bundled up. It's crazy needing blankets, toques and mitts in April. We enjoyed some great weather this weekend- hopefully Spring is finalIy hear to stay. It's been too cold and wet for too long.

I'm sorry to say that Malcolm recently had a bit of a setback in the sleeping department. He's been a champion sleeper for months and months, but a couple of weeks ago he woke up in the night crying and upset and then it kept happening. Roger says it's because Malcom is getting more teeth and these ones are bigger so it's painful for the little guy when they break through his gums. But, it seems like things are back on track- he's his happy self again and once again sleeping through the night. Whew....paws crossed that this trend continues....I like my zzzzz's. Here are some recent pictures.

Malcolm's first haircut!

Well, after 17 months, Malcolm finally got his first haircut. Apparently all went quite well considering he's never had his hair cut before. I hear he got to sit in a cool red sportscar and everything. The hairdresser at Mentor salon in Metrotown was very nice and gentle with him. He didn't like wearing the cape, but once they gave him a red lollipop to hold everything went very smoothly. He even had smiles, waves, winks and kisses for everyone on the way out. I hope this doesn't mean that I'm next up for a haircut! Here are some pictures from this milestone event:

Who looks more upset, Tracey or Malcolm?

What happened? Where's my hair?
Hey a red lollipop, whoa cool.

Those Canucks!

They sure are making it hard on themselves. With a loss tonight we have to win our last two games and hope that the Nashville Predators give us some help by losing their games. I've got my little paws crossed along with the rest of the Vancouver fans. Tracey and Roger were visibly dejected after tonight's loss. Let's hope for a better result on Thursday night against the Oilers.

Malcolm's trip to Science World...

I'm not sure if Malcolm even knew where he was, but from Roger's account he sure was happy! Shrieking sounds of joy, he roamed around the different exhibits with his cousin Carol.

Happy Easter everyone!

Well, we had a very nice dinner on Sunday with the family. Tracey even arranged a fun Easter egg hunt for all the kids. I even managed to find an egg today filled with chocolate. Roger said that it was lucky that he saw me find it or else I may have gotten sick from eating the eggs. Tracey has left for a conference in Florida for four days. She's going to have a chance to visit Disneyworld too. I can't wait to see what she brings back! Here are some pictures from this past week.

Happy Birthday Obiwan!

Three years old today, that's what I am. Roger said that in dog years that 21, now I can go to Vegas and gamble anytime. Happy birthday to me!

tear staining....

link
Roger's noticed a lot more tear staining in the last little while. He and Tracey have decided to order some more Angel Eyes for me. There was a dramatic improvement the last time I used the product, so hopefully we'll have the same results this time. It is believed that the actual cause of tear staining is a common yeast infection caused by excess tearing. When the face hair is wet it is a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast. One of the most common yeast infections is Ptyrosporin or Red Yeast which causes a deep reddish-brown stain around the eyes and mouth. I've had this discoloration for a few weeks now, hopefully the product will make things better.

In other news, Roger has a mild cold again and Malcolm is still coughing a bit. With the onset of the good weather I hope everyone will be back to 100% soon. Luckily Malcolm is still sleeping regularly from 7:30pm - 7:30am.

Tomorrow Malcolm will be 16 months old. So many developments since last month, namely independant walking! He's also learning a few words and knows several different signs. He can sign for food, more, milk, water, and cookie. The sign language has been very helpful in communication. It's quite amazing what he actually understands. Roger does his best to speak as much Korean as he can, Malcolm seems to understand that as well.

Here are some more pictures from the past week or so.

Mmmmm.... I like noodles.

Finally some good weather!

Well we've finally got a reprieve from the rain and cold. I think the weatherman said it was 13 degrees today. The warm weather gave us all the opportunity to play outside. Here are some pictures from this past weekend. Malcolm had his first taste of street hockey. Oh, we even went by the store to visit grandpa Harry and Annis.

Historic Korean Artifact destroyed.

February 12, 2008
SEOUL (AFP) - A elderly man has confessed to torching South Korea's most treasured historical landmark because he had a grievance over a decade-old land dispute, police said Tuesday.

Riot police were deployed to guard other historic sites in Seoul amid widespread anger and grief at the destruction of Namdaemun gate, a 600-year-old building in the heart of the capital.

Authorities came under fierce attack for failing to safeguard the building or to tackle the Sunday night fire effectively.

"The suspect has confessed all of his criminal acts to police," said Kim Yong-Su, captain of Namdaemun police station, announcing the arrest on Monday evening of a 69-year-old man identified only as Chae.

The family has been sick...

I think Roger got sick first, but about a week after he got it Malcolm came down with some symptoms and Tracey soon followed. Everyone has been feeling better, but not quite 100% yet. This year's Valentine's day was filled with stuffy noses, coughs, aches and pains. Tracey surprised Roger by taking him out to the Canucks game on Thursday night. It was such an entertaining game, too bad that the Canucks lost in overtime.

Malcolm is certainly getting the hang of the walking thing. He's becoming increasingly more confident as each day passes. Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.

helping out around the house?

Malcolm has befriended the dreaded vacuum cleaner. In fact, he can't seem to get enough of that thing. Today he even helped Roger vacuum the house. He's always been quite fascinated with it, the sound, the attachments and perhaps the inner workings of it all. Here is a photo-montage of his efforts around the house. Roger and Tracey hope that it will continue through his teen years. Afterall, who in their right mind would complain if their son wants to chip in and help clean the house. Maybe someone at Dyson will notice?

What is it with glasses, it even makes a baby look smarter? I may need to get some glasses myself.
