They sure are making it hard on themselves. With a loss tonight we have to win our last two games and hope that the Nashville Predators give us some help by losing their games. I've got my little paws crossed along with the rest of the Vancouver fans. Tracey and Roger were visibly dejected after tonight's loss. Let's hope for a better result on Thursday night against the Oilers.

Malcolm's trip to Science World...

Happy Easter everyone!
Well, we had a very nice dinner on Sunday with the family. Tracey even arranged a fun Easter egg hunt for all the kids. I even managed to find an egg today filled with chocolate. Roger said that it was lucky that he saw me find it or else I may have gotten sick from eating the eggs. Tracey has left for a conference in Florida for four days. She's going to have a chance to visit Disneyworld too. I can't wait to see what she brings back! Here are some pictures from this past week.

tear staining....

Roger's noticed a lot more tear staining in the last little while. He and Tracey have decided to order some more Angel Eyes for me. There was a dramatic improvement the last time I used the product, so hopefully we'll have the same results this time. It is believed that the actual cause of tear staining is a common yeast infection caused by excess tearing. When the face hair is wet it is a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast. One of the most common yeast infections is Ptyrosporin or Red Yeast which causes a deep reddish-brown stain around the eyes and mouth. I've had this discoloration for a few weeks now, hopefully the product will make things better.
In other news, Roger has a mild cold again and Malcolm is still coughing a bit. With the onset of the good weather I hope everyone will be back to 100% soon. Luckily Malcolm is still sleeping regularly from 7:30pm - 7:30am.
Tomorrow Malcolm will be 16 months old. So many developments since last month, namely independant walking! He's also learning a few words and knows several different signs. He can sign for food, more, milk, water, and cookie. The sign language has been very helpful in communication. It's quite amazing what he actually understands. Roger does his best to speak as much Korean as he can, Malcolm seems to understand that as well.
Here are some more pictures from the past week or so.
Mmmmm.... I like noodles.

Finally some good weather!
Well we've finally got a reprieve from the rain and cold. I think the weatherman said it was 13 degrees today. The warm weather gave us all the opportunity to play outside. Here are some pictures from this past weekend. Malcolm had his first taste of street hockey. Oh, we even went by the store to visit grandpa Harry and Annis.

Historic Korean Artifact destroyed.

February 12, 2008
SEOUL (AFP) - A elderly man has confessed to torching South Korea's most treasured historical landmark because he had a grievance over a decade-old land dispute, police said Tuesday.
Riot police were deployed to guard other historic sites in Seoul amid widespread anger and grief at the destruction of Namdaemun gate, a 600-year-old building in the heart of the capital.
Authorities came under fierce attack for failing to safeguard the building or to tackle the Sunday night fire effectively.
"The suspect has confessed all of his criminal acts to police," said Kim Yong-Su, captain of Namdaemun police station, announcing the arrest on Monday evening of a 69-year-old man identified only as Chae.

The family has been sick...
I think Roger got sick first, but about a week after he got it Malcolm came down with some symptoms and Tracey soon followed. Everyone has been feeling better, but not quite 100% yet. This year's Valentine's day was filled with stuffy noses, coughs, aches and pains. Tracey surprised Roger by taking him out to the Canucks game on Thursday night. It was such an entertaining game, too bad that the Canucks lost in overtime.
Malcolm is certainly getting the hang of the walking thing. He's becoming increasingly more confident as each day passes. Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.

helping out around the house?
Malcolm has befriended the dreaded vacuum cleaner. In fact, he can't seem to get enough of that thing. Today he even helped Roger vacuum the house. He's always been quite fascinated with it, the sound, the attachments and perhaps the inner workings of it all. Here is a photo-montage of his efforts around the house. Roger and Tracey hope that it will continue through his teen years. Afterall, who in their right mind would complain if their son wants to chip in and help clean the house. Maybe someone at Dyson will notice?

What is it with glasses, it even makes a baby look smarter? I may need to get some glasses myself.

Another snowstorm in Vancouver...

Malcolm this past week.
A very exciting development on January the 9th, we welcomed baby Camila in the world. Suffice to say Nick and Fabs are very proud parents. Here's a picture of their new bundle of joy.

Roger is starting training camp early, here's a picture of Malcolm's first hockey net.

Malcolm is learning how the Wii works, it's pretty funny to watch. He's obviously figured out that there's somesort of association with the Wiimote and the TV. He points it at the TV and presses all the buttons.

Everyone loves Grandma, but I think someone is especially smitten.

Malcolm is finally feeling better!
Well I guess we should consider ourselves lucky, Malcolm had his first real bad cold and one week later and he's his old cheery self. We had a few days where nothing would make the boy smile, poor kid. Roger and Tracey were getting a bit worried cause he wasn't eating very much either. I'm happy to report that the fever is gone, no more runny nose and his shrieks of joy are back full fold. Here are some recent pictures, who says you need fancy expensive toys, the boy likes lids, well all kitchen items really. He's really liked measuring cups since he was a little baby. Grandma has even put a whole bunch of hers in a bucket for him to play with.

It sure is a new life in the new house...
So many things are different since we moved. Now that Tracey has gone back to work a new schedule had to be devised to provide enough care for Malcolm and me. Currently Roger stays home on Mondays, Tracey stays home on Tuesdays and Thursdays which leaves Wednesdays and Fridays. On those particular days Grandma and cousin Chelsea take care of us. With all this activity in the house there's rarely an opportunity to have any sustained naps. Here are some pictures from this past week.

One day short of 14 months and my little brother is walking...
Malcolm has been able to stand for some months now, and he has taken a step here and there, but tonight he definitely put two little feet forward and started walking. Malcolm stood holding his little megablocs and remote control and took at least three very confident steps forward. Here is a short video of the momentous milestone.

Happy New Year!
It's been a very eventful 2007 and we're all looking forward to a somewhat quieter 2008. So many things will be different this year:
-Tracey has gone back to work
-We now live in a new home
-Malcolm's schedule is definitely established
-Grandma and Grandpa live downstairs
-Malcolm is so close to walking and talking
-I'm more settled in the new house
So many changes. So the family is definitely looking forward to a quieter year this year. From our family to yours we would like to wish everyone a very happy new year. Here are some pictures shot over the past few weeks of Christmas.
